Amenities and Activities

Walney Oaks has a Tot Lot with a slide and swings as well as a basketball court and general purpose playing field. The neighborhood backs to Flatlick Stream Valley Park. The park features paved walking trails running along Flatlick Stream.

Ellanor C. Lawrence County Park is a short walk from the neighborhood. The park's 660 acres are home to the Walney Visitor Center, Cabell's Mill/Middlegate complex, Walney Pond, various historic ruins, picnic tables, sports fields and four miles of hiking trails. The park service hosts frequent educational programs and cultural events for both adults and children.

Cub Run RECenter is located adjacent to Westfield High School, about a three mile drive from Walney Oaks. The RECenter has both an indoor competition and an indoor leisure pool as well as a large fitness center and mulitpurpose rooms.

Walney Oaks is in the Brookfield Elementary School, Franklin Middle School, and Chantilly High School pyramid of Fairfax County Public Schools.
